PERIODONTITIS

WHAT IS PARIODONTITIS?

Periodontitis is the popular term for a wide set of periodontic affections. These problems include  gum affections and problems with the bones around the teeth. Periodontitis can occur at any age and can have varying levels of severity.

Periodontitis

HOW DO I KNOW I'VE GOT PARIODONTITIS ?

A consultation with your dentist can confirm the presence of absence of periodontal problems. Gum bleeding is one of the first signs of periodontal problems and should be followed by a visit to the dentist. Other signs can be gum retraction of inflammation.

WHAT ARE THE THERAPEUTIC SOLUTIONS IN PARIODONTITIS ?

Periodontal treatments are varied, depending on the severity of the affection. The incipient stages of the disease can be controlled through correct hygiene measures and local application of specific antibiotics. The more complicated forms often require surgical intervention which aim at removing the tissue destroyed by the periodontitis and sometimes include the placement of biomaterials to replace the removed tissue (artificial bone, colagen membrane, etc. )

PATIENTS TESTIMONIALS

My gums were bleeding heavily and I couldn't get rid of the problem with any of the miraculous toothpastes advertised on tv. Luckily I ended up coming to DentAplus and now my gums look and feel healthy.

YOU ASK, OUR SPECIALISTS ANSWER

Q: What can I do to prevent periodontitis?
A: The main cause of periodontitis is represented by pathogen bacterial flora at the level of the oral cavity. As a result, a correct implementation of oral hygiene together with regular visits to the dentist for professional cleaning (on average twice a year) can help prevent periodontitis.

Q: Are there any special healthcare products one can against for periodontitis?
A: The dentist can recommend patients specialised hygiene products whenever periodontal affections are diagnosed. These products contain active substances which are antiseptic and contribute to the diminishing of pathogen bacterial flora. Sometimes these products are pretty concentrated and cannot be found in drug-stores, but only in specialised clinics or in shop specialised in oral hygiene products. Ask your dentist which hygiene products are best for you.
